Succulence Blog Tour

Today is my day to share for the Succulence Blog Tour!  Needless to say I was overjoyed when I was chosen to participate in this blog tour hosted by Bonnie Christine of Going Home to Roost.  I've been following Bonnie's journey as a blogger and artist before she started textile designing, which makes it extra special for me to share her newest fabric line, Succulence.  You can find her fabric at A Stitch In Time and many other fabric retailers.

I love the rich colors and soft feel these fabrics have!  Such a joy to work with!  I could think of many things to sew with these fabrics, but I'm known for making itty bitty baby shoes so that's what I did.  Of course my little one was more than happy to be my shoe model!

If you would like to make your own baby shoes here's a great baby shoe pattern!  These shoes are great for beginner and novice seamstresses alike.  All you need is a small amount of fabric like this Succulence fabric, some soft fabric like fleece, flannel, or bamboo velour (what I use) for the toe and ankle lining, Sherpa fleece for the insole (or another fluffy fabric), some faux suede or similar fabric for the outer sole, and a small amount of braided elastic.  So fun and rewarding to see your own little ones wearing something you made!

Check out the other bloggers on the blog tour to see what they made!  Be sure to visit Journey De Vida tomorrow for her post!
