Valentine's Day is tomorrow so I whipped up some yummy heart shaped Rice Krispie treats for my kids.
I used the basic Rice Krispies microwave recipe, and added some red food coloring to the melted marshmallows to turn them a little pink. After mixing in the Rice Krispies I poured the mixture into a rectangular baking dish, let them set up, then I cut out heart shapes with a cookie cutter.
To add some more sweetness and fun I melted some white chocolate chips, dipped in half of each heart, and added some sprinkles. To melt the chips, put them in a microwave safe bowl, microwave on high for 45 seconds to one minute, and stir until smooth. I also added a little red food coloring to some of the melted chips for some pink "frosting" too!
Add some sprinkles
With the extra pieces left over from cutting the heart shapes, I tore them into small pieces, drizzled some of the melted white chocolate chips, and add some more sprinkles!
Helping hands from my littlest
Enjoy and Happy Valentine's Day!
